Can a non-compliant heavy-duty vehicle operate in California?
5-Day Pass may allow an eligible covered vehicle to operate temporarily in California for five consecutive days. The pass does not make a non-compliant vehicle compliant or replace other applicable program requirements. Eligibility and approval are determined by the administering agency.
How early should I request 5-Day Pass?
Submit your request Monday through Thursday or before 3 p.m. on Friday. We send confirmation within 15–30 minutes during these hours. Requests submitted after 3 p.m. Friday or over the weekend are processed on the next business day.
Which vehicles are exempt from Clean Truck Check Reporting?
Certain vehicles are not subject to the program, including battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles and other qualifying exempt vehicle categories. Exemption depends on the vehicle's characteristics, registration and use.
How long is 5-Day Pass valid?
5-Day Pass provides temporary operation for five consecutive days. An eligible vehicle may receive one 5-Day Pass per calendar year.
